Valentýna Janů (*1994) is a Czech artist whose work focuses on the generational and gender study of the changing bond between human social arrangements, the belittling of duration and the colouration of reality. Valentýna addresses social and cultural environments of every day, frequently quoting sources from literature and pop music, and translating these unique formations to compose familiar everyday experiences. Janů belongs to the youngest, institutionally active group of artists from the region. Next year, Janů will be awarded MA from the Department of Intermedia Practices the Academy of Visual Arts, Prague. In 2016, she graduated from the department of Post-conceptual Practice at the Film and TV School, Academy of Performing Arts, Prague. Valentýna's recent exhibitions include solo presentations at the National Gallery Prague and at the Prague City Gallery and group shows at Kunsteverening Diepenheim, Holland and at the Columbia University, New York.
