Seminar of Accidental Wisdom #1: Valentinas Klimašauskas

Join us for an online lecture presented by Valentinas Klimašauskas on Wednesday 19 May 2021, 7 pm. As part of the Seminar of Accidental Wisdom lecture series, the talk will be streaming live on Zoom, YouTube and Facebook Live. The audience will be invited to participate in a Q&A session that will follow the lecture.

Klimašauskas’ talk will focus on his curatorial engagement in the upcoming Baltic Triennial 14 - The Endless Frontier. The Triennial will focus on the so-called former Eastern Europe and emphasise arts’ inscription in an expansive social landscape, mirroring current frictions between an assortment of endpoints and new beginnings. During his presentation, Klimašauskas will explain how the triennial will engage with a paradoxical time of fragmented integration, where conflicting ecologic, economic, and political agencies are enacted. Baltic Triennial 14 - Endless Frontier will be held at Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius, 4 June-15 August 2021. Following the lecture, Klimašauskas will open Valentýna Janů's solo exhibition at lítost titled Who Looks out of a Window on Saturday 22 May 2020, 2 pm.

Seminar of Accidental Wisdom is a lecture series organized by the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Kunsthalle Bratislava, and lítost gallery, Prague. Within the scope of 11 lectures, invited curators, theoreticians, and artists will present their contributions to contemporary audiovisual forms, photography, and exhibition theory.
